Bethesda Game Studios

Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios, 2010

Bethesda Game Studios was set up in 2001 as the development arm of Bethesda Softworks. It made Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 on the licensed Gamebryo engine, then forked that code into its own Creation Engine for Skyrim. Starfield runs on Creation Engine 2. Microsoft has owned it, through ZeniMax, since 2021.
