Pop-in
What is pop-in? Objects suddenly appearing as you approach them, why short draw distance and LOD switching cause it, and how games hide it.
Pop-in is the sudden appearance of objects or terrain as the camera gets closer, or a visible jump in an object’s detail. It comes from a short draw distance or abrupt level-of-detail switching. It is also called pop-up or draw-in.
